Cyber Security Engineer (Networking Focus)

Location Requirement
This is a full-time, in-office position at our Huntersville, NC headquarters. Remote work is not available. Candidates must already live in the Charlotte/Lake Norman area or be able to commute to Huntersville daily. We are not offering relocation assistance for this role.

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Cyber Security Engineer with a specialized focus on networking to join our team. You will integrate and coordinate advanced cybersecurity technologies and threat intelligence, working closely with our security team to ensure strong defenses across our clients’ network infrastructure. Your networking expertise will be critical in identifying vulnerabilities, responding to incidents, and hardening networks to protect our clients’ digital assets.

Do You Have Experience With?

• Configuring and managing IT infrastructure tools like Office 365, firewalls, backups, endpoints, and file servers
• Using RMM platforms (Atera, Datto, Ninja, etc.) to automate tasks, run scripts, install software, push GPOs, and manage patching

Are You Comfortable With?

• PowerShell scripting and traditional system administration (Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
• Managing email systems, spam filters, and phishing simulation tools like KnowBe4 or Breach Secure Now
• Supporting Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Intune, Autopilot, MFA, and conditional access policies
• Managing mobile devices and working with backup solutions across cloud and hybrid environments

Firewall Experience (a Plus)

• WatchGuard
• Palo Alto
• Fortinet

Governance, Risk & Compliance Experience (a Plus)

• Hands-on exposure to SOC 2, NIST, and HIPAA requirements
• Ability to translate compliance frameworks into practical technical controls for clients

Identity Security Practices (a Plus)

• Cisco Duo
• WatchGuard AuthPoint
• Okta

Device Management (a Plus)

• MDM platforms, including Microsoft Intune and Addigy
• RMM platform experience

Nice to Have

• Experience with security tools like CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, and Check Point Harmony
• Familiarity with SaaS security platforms like Zscaler, Cloudflare, DNSFilter, and Zero Trust frameworks
• Working knowledge of tools like VulScan, Vonahi, Pentera, Nessus, Wireshark, or SecurityScorecard
• Experience with documentation platforms like IT Glue or lifecycle platforms like ScalePad
